5 Habits That Can Make You Lose Your Marriage
There are some daily habits you may never know is quietly destroying your marriage, like going through Instagram while in bed with your spouse.
Studies prove that there are a lot of little things (at least little to us) that is capable of taking a marriage to the Lawyer’s office but we love you so much, we have put together 5 of those things to help avoid a split.
Find them below;
FIXATING ON WHAT YOUR SPOUSE DOESN’T DO WELL
This is a common problem that is caused because the mind always wants to complain. Your mind keeps telling you your friends husband buys her a new gift for each time she has a baby but yours didn’t and you tend to negatively compare your spouse with hers. Even if you are only making these observations in your mind, it is slowly going to come out eventually and kill your relationship. The trick is fixating on all the good things he has done and taking off your mind from that which he has failed to do.
TAKING TO LONG TO SORT OUT YOUR ISSUES
Problems are bound to come but not facing your problems soon enough can cause bigger problems. The longer you wait, the more time and work it will take to help get things back on track.
SAYING MEAN THINGS BEHIND EACH OTHERS BACK
Regardless of how hurt you may be, talking trash behind your partners back is a red flag. If your group of friends are constantly saying mean things about their partner, it may seem normal for you to also join in but don’t fall for that trap. Even if he never gets to find out, it shows lack of respect and further opens room for criticism.
NOT PUTTING YOURSELF IN YOUR PARTNER’S SHOES
The table will turn and when it eventually turns, will you be able to sit on the other side of the room? Oh well! how many people said yes… Not everyone has the ability to understand their significant other (especially Men) and this on it’s own is a big risk. Both parties should try to walk in the others’ shoes when working on a problem.
NOT FIGHTING AT ALL
This probably feels strange to some people but as much as it is strange, it is true. Experts claim your relationship might be in trouble when you don’t bother to voice out what’s eating you up because you are trying to stay perfect and avoid a fight. It also means you’ve stopped putting energy into the relationship and could be emotionally checking out. But that doesn’t also mean you should be picking up little fights just to show you care.
