This is the ‘perfect’ Christmas party dress according to research – but would you wear it?

It's Christmas party season, but how do you go about picking the perfect dress?
It’s Christmas party season, but how do you go about picking the perfect dress?
The fashion brand recently surveyed 1,000 women in an effort to unveil the nation’s ultimate party dress.

It unearthed some interesting discoveries, one of which being that 86 per cent of women tend to search for a frock that they can wear on multiple occasions, not just at Christmas.

Perhaps not surprisingly, more than a third of women asked opted for black as their colour of choice, boosting the case for the infamous LBD.

For nearly half of women, lace is the go-to fabric.

On top of that, 41 per cent would choose a fitted style, rather than something baggy, and 77 per cent of ladies were found to prefer a sleeve, particularly longer ones.

Length was the biggest bone of contention, as 20 per cent like a longer dress while 30 per cent opt for a style that falls above the knee.

The winner was the happy medium – knee length – with 35 per cent of female shoppers eyeing up this cut.

With all that in mind, Wallis then created this ‘perfect’ black, lacy, mid-length, long-sleeved, fitted frock.

As most women said they’d be prepared to pay around £70 for a special occasion dress, this one is currently on sale for £63.

So, what do you think? Would you buy it?
